I guess I don't go to clubs b/c I am old.

When I was a lad, I DID have Siamese Fighting Fish. Alas, despite the fearsome name, they are relatively ineffective as bodyguards/assassins.

Another thought, Ancient Egyptian police used to patrol the streets with attack baboons. I used that in an as-yet unpublished Sword & Sorcery tale.Dave Hardyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11210387108701067975noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5329139329489259389.post-60257548680490851742009-02-25T21:51:00.000-06:002009-02-25T21:51:00.000-06:00Astute comments, Dave. Have you been to the club on 4th Street that supposedly has a shark in a glass tank under the floor?Christopher Brownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11102514167871372993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5329139329489259389.post-57734146835542636862009-02-21T00:55:00.000-06:002009-02-21T00:55:00.000-06:00Doug Moench's rather free adaptation of Beneat...Doug Moench's rather free adaptation of Beneath PotA was superb & even more creepily dystopian than the film.

I think most people are on the chimp's side. Though equally I feel that most will concede that when one is confronted with a 200lb wild animal with seven times the strength of a human a craving to bite one's face off, one's best friends are Smith & Wesson. Regrettable, but that's what you get when irresponsible fools treat a wild animal as a pet.

Frankly, a shark is a better pet. They are at least predictable. They swim & eat. Chimps are a lot like humans, sympathetic, curious, emotional, & cruel (Jane Goodall's revelations still give me the heebie-jeebies). That ups the danger level quite a bit, though of course humans are by far the greatest danger possible.

The striking thing about this pop-culture chain reaction is how quickly Obama, politics & race got dragged in.Dave Hardyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11210387108701067975noreply@blogger.com
